112IM Light-Weight Copolymer-Based All-Weather Loudspeaker System

The One Systems® 112IM™ is a high-performance 12-inch two-way loudspeaker system with a strong injection-molded enclosure. The 112IM is perfect for direct weather outdoor installations as well as indoor applications where high vocal intelligibility and sonic accuracy are required. Like all One Systems® products, the 112IM delivers excellent full-range fidelity and high vocal intelligibility.

The 112IM is optimized for use in outdoor applications such as sports venues, theme parks and other applications where exposure to direct weather is assumed. It is equally well suited for general-purpose indoor applications in multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums and churches, etc. with vocal material or music. The 112IM is available in black and white finishes and is easily paintable to match various décor requirements.

The 112IM incorporates a patent-pending large-format high frequency driver designed and built by One Systems. The patent-pending ET compression driver has a unique “equivalent throat” design that allows the driver’s radiation pattern to be controlled by the phase plug’s summation plane rather than the conventional exit diameter at the end of the driver’s structure. The ET driver has a large format titanium diaphragm and a close-spaced circumferential ring phase plug to insure extended high frequency bandwidth.

There are two high frequency horns available: The standard horn delivers a 60-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical radiation pattern and is fully rotatable. There is also a 105-degree horizontal by 60-degree vertical rotatable horn available that will be supplied when requested on order. The low frequency driver’s design is also patent-pending. The 12-inch 12I/O Inside Only woofer utilizes a unique voice coil wound on the inside of the voice coil’s support structure. This design delivers high magnetic system displacement as well as increased heat dissipation for reduced power compression and higher reliability. Its unique design and 4-inch voice coil deliver high 800 watts continuous, 3,200 watts peak power handling.

The 112IM’s enclosure is made of a special copolymer optimized to handle harsh environments and high UV exposure. All its external rigging hardware and its grille are made of 304-grade stainless steel. The grille is a 3-layer “rain shield” design that minimizes direct rain contact with the systems transducers. The system’s unique vent design enables moisture drainage from the interior of the enclosure. The enclosure and grille are rated to IEC 529 / IP 45 (solid object penetration to 1 mm (0.04 inches) and water jets from any direction). The 112IM’s enclosures and components are also rated to Mil Spec 810.

The 112IM’s input section includes a barrier strip with stainless steel hardware and two 4-pin Neutrik® Speakon® connectors. An aluminum input weather cover with an integral gland nut connector is provided for use in outdoor applications. The gland nut is weatherproof and is rated NEMA 6P (IP 68). The gland nut connector will accommodate cables with outside diameters from 7 mm to 12 mm (0.236 to 0.472 inch) to allow use of most 2-conductor AWG 12 cables.

The 112IM is also available with an optional built-in line-matching transformer compatible with primaries from 70.7 – 100 volts. This internally mounted 150-watt transformer offers taps at 150 watts, 75 watts, and 37.5 watts that are accessible through its 5-pin barrier strip input.

Because the 112IM is designed for permanent installation, a variety of rigging and suspension options are available. The 112IM is equipped with 19 x M10 threaded suspension points that are heavily reinforced for safe overhead suspension. These suspension points enable the use of optional hardware that permit installation of the 112IM in many applications.
